BACKGROUND:

A current trend in the field of wind turbines is to increase reliability. An effective means of achieving this objective is to opt for a direct drive electric generator. In fact, removing the gear box significantly reduces maintenance operations. In addition to this reliability aspect, permanent magnet generators significantly improves efficiency.

In this context, ERNEO designs and manufactures direct drive permanent magnet generators.

INNOVATION:

Following recent research work, ERNEO has patented a new electric generator technology providing significantly improved performance of wind turbines. This new generator technology can be connected to highly simplified electronics (diode rectifier), reliable and low cost, without altering efficiency and while ensuring an essentially zero level of torque ripple.
